I had a late night bite of Bitter Melon soup with brown rice.
Home popped popcorn.
I'm taking a guess that this is Cendol jelly noodles. I don't even know how to say it in Khmer or Vietnamese, which is odd because I grew up eating this so much. It normally comes in a clear plastic cup with a small container of sweet coconut milk and served at room temperature or cold. I like it cold.
and a regular vegetarian sandwich with mock meat.

More candy. You always have candy at home Samy!
After having lunch with dad, I got to see Miss Dottie!!!
She was being a brat already by smacking my candy with her paw.
This is the only vegetarian friendly dish there. Chow fun noodle soup. Long and I split it.

Aw Miss Dottie!
I've never had bitter melon.......
i thought that candy was beans at first! and i was like "Wow where did she find such wonderfully colored beans!"
Miss Dottie is cute!
Leng! I'm so glad your back blogging! I missed seeing your delicious foods! And your trips/traveling look like so much fun. That beach was gorgeous! As for your eats, so many look amazing! Burritos, sushi, thai food, seaweed salad, curry, the AFGHAN meal! wow! Oh and I bought some black bean garlic sauce (inspired by you!)and had a couple goes at trying stir frys- but I know you can help me the most with directing me on how to cook the best veggie stir fry. What ways do you like to do it? I'm still struggling to find the right sauce!
Babe:
It was bitter! Thank your mom for making it. I think I’d like to try it without the tofu next time.
Momester:
You loved eating it!? I always threw it away. I didn't make it. Long's mom made a vegetarian version of it the weekend before I left. A little stale, but very similar to what I remember it tasting like, just without the pork.
Jennifer:
Bitter melon is literally BITTER. If you've never had it before, I don't think you'll like it. As with many foods we enjoy, it's acquired.
Happy herbivore:
lol, I would love to find beans that colorful!
cookiemouse:
Yeah she's pretty cute and she knows it too.
Emma!
The beach was my favorite part of Hawai'i. It's so amazing there. The weather—Perfect, the people--so nice, and the food--really GOOD. What more could a person ever ask for?
Normally when I (or Long) cook with the black bean & garlic sauce it’s with stir fry. The veggies that we normally use are the greener ones that don't have flavors that would overpower the sauce (i.e. green bell pepper rather than sweet red bell pepper). Zucchini squash, and some dark leafy green along with onions and spicy peppers (if you eat spicy).
The dishes that I have posted with black bean & garlic sauce are posted on 01.25.08 and at:

The trick is to not add too much sauce because it’s very salty (and has a lot of sodium). The only additions that we put in it are chili peppers and maybe more garlic and onions.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you need more information. I’ll be glad to help.
Bahaha! I love that little fancy feline :) She's such a cutiepie! And SO glad your back to blogging! YAY
